Revisting the Sony Bravia ads
By S Simmons. Filed in Editing |If you haven’t seen the Sony Bravia ads in a while, and especially if you have only seen them on bad You Tube flash video compression, then you owe it to yourself to take a look at them in high quality H.264 Quicktime. A buddy of mine J, of Griffin Technology, recently posted the clips on his blog Things Best Said.

The 2005 Balls spot saw director Nicolai Fuglsig dump 250,000 “superballs” down a San Francisco street. There’s a number of Behind the Scenes videos at the official site.

2006 saw the Paint spot as director Jonathan Glazer blasted a neighborhood with thousands of gallons of paint. There’s a Behind the Scenes video at the Sony site as well.
These spots were wildly popular on the net and even inspired some parodies. Sure they’ve been around for a while but as works of art they are always worth watching again. Maybe we’ll get a new one in 2007. Enjoy!
