I am on 5.1.2 and plan on staying there for a while as it’s stable and chugging right along without any issues. Knock knock. These little incremental upgrades scare me in that a client might upgrade when their Software Update pops up and then I won’t be able to open their project file. There’s always xml but I’d much rather open the project. I haven’t tried to open a 5.1.3 file in 5.1.2 but I’m sure it won’t allow it. I really wish Apple would allow older version to open a newer project. If you’ve upgraded to one of these new versions and need to go back to 5.1.2, Red Giant Software has a step by step here. And if you want to know how to keep different versions of Final Cut Pro around for just this very reason, Shane Ross has instructions on how to do that here. Great references to have around as these versions fly all fast and furious.
