Changing a performance through fx

HD For Indies linked to the above article from Times Online in the UK. I’m sure that everyone other than the most casual movie goer knows that clever editing can manipulate the audiences perceptions of a scene and feeling about a particular performance. That’s what good editing does. It’s done in features, commercials, documentaries and reality television. Especially reality television. But the Times Online article talks about post production taking things one step further, like adding a digital tear or “opening or closing eyes; making a limp more convincing; removing breathing
signs; eradicating blinking eyelids from a lingering gaze.”
