If you are looking to kill some time this weekend the check out The Long Take post over at the Daily Film Dose. They’ve put together a huge collection (thanks to You Tube) of some of the “greatest long tracking shots in cinema.” All possible because of the Internet! (the post… not the shots) There’s not really much to add since everything is in the post. There are a lot of fun comments to wade through as well. The only thing I would add is a film called Adrenaline. It was shot locally in downtown Nashville and is an 88 minute thriller which is one continuous shot. It’s impressive as the main character must deal with the demands of his daughter’s kidnappers as they send him all over town fulfilling tasks to secure her safe return. That’s in and out of cars and banks and buildings, all thanks to a JVC camera and hard drive attachment. There’s no clips on You Tube but you can check out a clip at Romar Entertainment, click on upcoming releases… and maybe at a film festival near you.
