What I like about Premiere Pro: History
By S Simmons. Filed in Editing |One nice thing that Avid Media Composer has always had is an undo/redo list. This list was a submenu under Undo that listed via text what the last several actions were that was performed and gave you some idea of what you were undoing and how far you needed to go to get back to some earlier state. After undoing then the same type of list was available under the redo. We’ve been wanting something like this in Final Cut Pro for a long while but … still … at version 6 … nothing.
Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 one ups them all with its History palette:
What you have here is just like Photoshop’s History palette where you can see descriptions of what recent commands were and then drag a little slider:
up or down to undo and redo. The steps that you have “undone” are still viewable below the slider a bit grayed out. A very nice and handy feature to have. I did notice one little bug and that was when you have your interface darkened (via Preferences > User Interface) the items that you have “undone” don’t show up:
but surely that will be fixed.
