    That’s kinda scary. Those old BBC edit cublcles were where I started my career in 1986. Apart from 1″ instead of 2″ VTRs, it didn’t look much different :-)

    I worked for many years as a videotape operator and editor with both 2-inch and then 1-inch machines – working in a similar fashion to what was shown in the later section of the clip. We had cubicles too!

    Believe it or not, you became very fast and proficient working in that manner.

    Great to see the old 2-inch tape machines again!

    Great comments! We have to all remember that editing had to begin somewhere. If the power went out we couldn’t use our NLEs but you could still cut and splice film!
