Software from the future: marker pop-ups

Someday…markers might become even more useful via a little pop-up window that shows text assigned to the marker. While today all markers can be labeled with content, that content is usually visible only by clicking the marker, bringing up a separate window or moving the playhead in the timeline to the marker. A pop-up would be handy in that just moving the mouse over a previously set marker would quickly reveal the contents without even a click.

And even better if there are options to customize how the pop-up interacted:

    great idea Scott

This is right on. Especially, the idea of allowing sequence markers to move with the edit.

I would also add a contextual marker bin, similar to Avid locators. It drives me nuts that we’re at FCP 6, almost 9 years since FCP 1.0 came out, and Apple still has not made any substantial changes on markers…getting it to a better level than Avid locators.
