Screen, please redraw properly
By S Simmons. Filed in Editing |I was plagued by this little screen redraw thingy in Final Cut Pro for half of the day today. It would show itself whenever I used my mouse scroll wheel to scroll the timeline vertically. I was kind of amusing as my client was impressed with all of the info I had in the timeline at the time. I’ve seen it pop up every now and then over the years. I don’t know what causes it (nor have I ever researched it) because is always just corrects itself. FCP has a number of little screen redraw things that have crept up over the years. You would think that by version 6 they would have fixed those things … but you’d be wrong.

Isn’t this an OS X problem? When I first got my MacBook ( with 10.4) I always had these problems, in FCP, Safari, and the Finder. With all the updates in the last 2 years I don;t seem to get it anymore. My friends 2 month old MacBook Pro with OS X 10.5 has this problem all of the time, especially in the Finder.

Hmmm…. that’s a good point Mat. Personally I’ve only ever seen it in FCP but maybe you are right! Anyone else?
Interesting quote there btw….

I’ve only seen this in the Finder in FCP. Never in the timeline though. Really annoying.

I’m getting this with 10.5.4, MBP, in FireFox. Not very often (at all?) in Finder.
