Avid Media Compsoer 5.0 has shipped and there’s articles all over the ‘net about it:

I took a tour around some of the interface changes while Kevin P McAuliffe wrote a review over at PVC. Share Ross looks at it from A Frog’s Eye View. Dylan Reeve had one of the first reviews on the ‘net. Editor Job ter Burg looks at some of the smaller things in v5. Steve Cohen discusses it too. A very long and detailed article about the path to Media Composer can be read here. And there’s a whole bunch of training videos up on Avid’s website so grab the free, full-featured 30 day demo and check it out.

Norman Hollyn has taken the Media Composer 5 discussion a step further than a simple review. Oliver Peters has done the same thing and they are both great reads.

Newmediawebinars.com is having two DSLR webinars: DSLR Filmmaking Production Reality Check on June 17 and DSLR Filmmaking Post Workflows on June 22. The Post webinar will be hosted by me.

June 25 is a big Final Cut Pro User Group Network SuperMeet in Boston. That’s not far away so grab your tickets!

What all can HTML5 do? Apple has some examples.

You should check out the great Get Faster in Final Cut Pro series that the You Down With FCP blog is doing.

This is a nice reduser.net post about one person’s reasons that 1080p isn’t enough.

You never know when you might need some handwritten fonts. Here’s 63.

This is indeed a big collection of Avid information and tutorials (it’s a big pdf btw). I hope it will be updated soon for version 5.0.
